Earlier this year, we took Skyroam to Costa Rica, Bali and Thailand and the personal wifi hotspot device made our travels so much easier to navigate the city while we stayed conveniently connected at all times.

Skyroam recently launched their new model, Skyroam Solis, and we took the Solis with us on our recent trip to Japan. We were already very pleased with the previous model, so we were excited to try out the new, upgraded features on the Solis.

Japan is quite notorious for not having accessible wifi for visitors, but in the past few years they have become more friendly to the idea of providing wifi.

However, most of the free wifi is limited to airports or certain areas in major cities. When we are trying to find our hotel or locate a specific restaurant, it's those times when we need wifi the most and usually that's when it's not available.

We also wish the trains had wifi to help kill time and to navigate our next destination, but we have not been on one where there was free wifi.

This is when the Solis is our best friend. We were in Japan for ten days and the Solis did not disappoint. Here are our top 5 reasons why we love the new Skyroam Solis:

1. Battery Life

The Skyroam Solis battery lasts all day, which was awesome because we would start our days around 7AM and wouldn't be back at our hotel until 8PM. Just make sure to charge the device all night so it will be ready for another day of full usage. The battery life definitely lasted longer than the previous model.

2. Ease of Use

This device is super easy to use. It's just one-touch to access unlimited WiFi. You don't need a SIM card or any special log-in instructions. The only difference with this model is that instead of a screen on the device, you can access information on the Skyroam website.

3. Speedy WiFi

We used the Solis simultaneously on our mobile phones and laptops and the WiFi speed was top-notch. You get the fastest 4G LTE WiFi speeds. We did not encounter any buffering and everything worked smoothly no matter where we were.

4. Power-Charging USB-C Port

The Solis has a powerful 6000 mAh power bank, which means you can charge your phone or other gadgets on-the-go. This was not an option with the previous model and it's definitely a convenient feature to have if one of your devices runs out of battery.

5. Shareable Device

Last but not least, we love that the WiFi is shareable for up to 5 devices. So if you are on a family vacation, there is no need to bring multiple Solis devices. This feature is also available with the previous model and a notable one!
