If you’re looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel in Jackson, Wyoming, let me introduce you to a spot I genuinely enjoyed staying at: Rockwell Inn. I stayed here with my boyfriend, Tyrone, for two nights while visiting Grand Teton National Park, and it ended up being a great home base for exploring both the park and downtown Jackson.
From the moment we arrived, the vibe felt cozy, welcoming, and just… easy. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want after long days of hiking, sightseeing, and early mornings.
Location: Walkable and Right at the Edge of Downtown
Rockwell Inn sits right at the end of downtown Jackson’s main shopping strip, which turned out to be super convenient. Restaurants, bars, and shops are all within walking distance, so once we parked the car, we didn’t really need to move it again in the evenings.
If you’re visiting Jackson Hole for skiing or planning day trips to Grand Teton National Park, this location works really well. It feels central without being noisy or chaotic.
Why We Chose Rockwell Inn
When I was researching hotels in Jackson, it came down to Rockwell Inn and the nearby 49er Inn. The 49er Inn was a bit cheaper, but Rockwell Inn just looked nicer overall. We decided to spend a little more, and I’m so glad we did. The hotel felt more updated, more comfortable, and honestly just more pleasant to come back to at the end of the day.
Our Room: Courtyard 2 Queen Room
We stayed in a Courtyard 2 Queen Room, and the space was surprisingly roomy. One of my favorite little touches was the stuffed wolf named Roxy waiting on the bed when we arrived. I love themed details like that. It instantly made the room feel more personal and fun. (And yes, you can actually buy Roxy for $25 if you want to take her home.)
Right outside our room was a small courtyard with seating and Edison-style lights, which looked especially cozy in the evening. We were usually too tired to hang out there, but I loved having that space right outside the door.
The beds were very comfortable. I slept so well that I actually overslept one morning, which almost never happens when I travel.
Room Layout and Amenities
The room was thoughtfully set up with plenty of storage and practical features:
A desk area with a cube-style outlet hub, including multiple outlets and USB ports
Hooks and hanging space for coats, hats, and bags
A chair, dresser, and TV
Closet with extra blankets, iron, ironing board, and luggage rack
One small downside: the room lighting was pretty dim, even with all the lights turned on. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s something to note if you like brighter rooms.
Bathroom Setup
The bathroom was spacious, which I always appreciate. There was lots of counter space, a full-length mirror, and a separate area with:
Microwave
Mini fridge (with a small freezer, perfect for ice packs)
Keurig coffee maker
The shower and tub area was clean and well-stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I also loved that they provided a real bath mat instead of just a towel. It’s a small detail, but it makes a difference.
My only bathroom complaint is the lack of hooks. I ended up using the towel bar to hang my toiletry bag, which worked, but more hooks would have been nice.
Hotel Amenities
Rockwell Inn offers a solid list of amenities that made our stay more comfortable:
Free Breakfast
Breakfast is complimentary and served from 6:00 am to 9:30 am upstairs in the lobby area. The space is a bit small, but you can always take your food downstairs if seating is limited.
The breakfast was pretty standard but totally fine. Waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, bread, coffee, and tea. Nothing fancy, but convenient and filling before heading out for the day.
Free Bikes
One of the standout perks is the free bikes. You just sign your name at the front desk and take them out. There’s no time limit, which is great.
Jackson is a beautiful place to bike, especially if you head toward scenic areas like Mormon Row. There are proper trails, mountain views, and plenty of photo-worthy scenery along the way.
Indoor Pool and Hot Tub
There’s a small indoor pool and a jacuzzi. I didn’t use them, but I did check them out. The pool is very small, but it’s still a nice option if you want a quick soak.
Laundry Facilities
They have a laundry room with washers and dryers that accept credit cards. It was about $3 for the washer and $2 for the dryer, and the front desk can provide detergent if you need it.
Free Cookies (My Favorite!)
Every day at 5:00 pm, they put out free hot cookies, along with water, lemonade, coffee, and tea near the front desk. The cookies were so good that I grabbed two one evening. No regrets.
Fitness Center Access
There’s no gym on-site, but the hotel provides a free day pass to the local rec center across the street, which is a great alternative if you want to work out.
Parking and Noise
Parking was extremely convenient. You can park right in front of your room, which made unloading luggage easy, especially after long travel days.
Our room was on the first floor, with a room above us. We could occasionally hear footsteps, but it was very minimal and didn’t affect our sleep at all.

What We Paid and When We Stayed
We stayed at Rockwell Inn in late August (August 23–25, Saturday to Monday), which is still considered peak season in Jackson and near Grand Teton National Park.
Our Courtyard 2 Queen Room was $505 per night, for a total of $1,011 for two nights. Hotel prices in Jackson can vary quite a bit depending on the season, day of the week, and availability, so rates may be higher or lower depending on when you visit.
At $505 per night, this stay was definitely a splurge for me, and it’s not a price point I usually pay for hotels. That said, every once in a while there are those special trips where I’m okay spending a little more, and this was one of them. Hotels near national parks tend to be expensive, especially during peak season, and Jackson is no exception.
I also balanced things out by using credit card points and hotel points for other stays on this Western national parks road trip, which made splurging here feel a lot more reasonable. In the end, the comfort, location, and overall experience made it worth it for this trip.
Final Thoughts: Would I Stay Here Again?
Absolutely. Rockwell Inn was cozy, comfortable, and incredibly convenient. The location alone makes it a great choice, but the little extras like free bikes, hot cookies, and thoughtful room amenities really stood out to me.
If you’re visiting Jackson, Jackson Hole, or planning a trip to Grand Teton National Park and want a hotel that feels welcoming and easy, I think Rockwell Inn is a great option.
This stay made our trip even more enjoyable, and I’d happily book it again.
