We recently visited Universal Resort Orlando, Florida and stayed at Loews Royal Pacific Resort. We couldn’t have made a better decision to stay at this hotel because it was walking distance to the parks, the service was superb, the rooms were spacious, the amenities were amazing and on top of all that, we got awesome perks to the amusement parks.

FIRST IMPRESSION

My friend, Mariko, and I were greeted instantly as we walked up to the hotel entrance. The hotel entryway was eye-catching with a line of frog statues lined up  leading you to the door. You immediately feel like you’re in another world in the Pacific with Asian umbrellas, colorful flowers, wooden benches and beautiful ponds.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with everything we needed. Since we arrived at 1 PM, a little before check-in time at 4 PM, the staff told us that they would text us as soon as the room was ready. As we were wrapping up our check-in process, we got are hotel key cards and beautiful leis to welcome us to the hotel.

EXCLUSIVE THEME PARK BENEFITS

Since we had a little time to kill, we decided to have some lunch at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, which was located at City Walk. We were on Universal Orlando Resort property, so we had two options to reach City Walk: 1) An easy trail that’s about an 8-minute walk or 2) A complimentary water taxi that takes about 15 minutes to reach the port. We decided to walk the trail there and take the boat back.

The trail was a really pleasant walk with beautiful bamboo trees, flowers and bridges. It felt more like a 5-minute walk and we were really surprised at how close we were to the attractions.

Another perk we had staying at this property was that we had early access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Volcano Bay theme parks an hour before they opened. The best perk of all was the FREE Universal Express Unlimited pass where we got to skip all the lines at every ride at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. All we had to do was show our hotel key cards and we were directed to the Express Lane. This was a huge advantage for us when we visited the parks. This pass usually costs up to $90, so we saved some money there.

Some other notable perks included:

- Complimentary delivery of merchandise purchased throughout the resort to your hotel.
- Universal Orlando character appearances with some of your favorite theme park characters.
-  Priority seating at select restaurants throughout both theme parks.

THE ROOM

At around 2 PM, we got a text from Royal Pacific Resort to let us know that our room was ready. We took the lovely boat ride back to the hotel and went up to our room on the 7th floor at Tower 2.

The room was gorgeous with lots of room for the two of us. The beds and the pillows were very comfortable and it felt like we were sleeping on clouds. The pillows especially were just the right weight. Not too soft and not too hard. I fell asleep within minutes every night because those beds were so comfy.

Along with the two queen size beds, we had a huge flat-screen TV, a Keurig coffee machine, work desk,  mini fridge, iron & ironing board, a safe, Julien Farel toiletries and plenty of outlets.

We also had complimentary wifi, but it was a little finicky. One minute, it would work just fine and the next minute, the wifi would disconnect. It was a little inconvenient, but it didn’t bother us too much since we didn’t use the wifi often.

RESTAURANTS

There are 4 restaurants on-site - Island’s Dining Room, Emeril's Tchoup Chop, Jake’s American Bar and Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar. They also have a food menu at the pool bar and a Weekly Wantilan Luau, a weekly Hawaiian dinner show. On Sundays, the Islands Dining Room has a special character breakfast with the Minions, Scooby Doo, Bart Simpson and more. We definitely enjoyed the character breakfast. The minions were so cute and Bart Simpson fed me my yogurt. We also enjoyed the Orchid Court Lounge as it was a beautiful, relaxing area. All the restaurants we tried had excellent dishes and superb service!

SERVICE & AMENITIES

The service was top-notch from beginning to end. Every single staff member greeted us with a smile and were very attentive with whatever we needed.

They offer many amenities but we didn’t get to enjoy much of it since we were mostly at City Walk or the theme parks. They have an amazing lagoon-style pool, fitness gym, on-site shopping and kids’ programs. They’re also a pet friendly hotel, so you can bring your furry friends with you! I saw a few pet park areas around the hotel, so there’s plenty of walking areas for your dog.

OVERALL

We are so glad we chose to stay at Loews Pacific Royal Resort as it included just about everything we needed and we felt like we were pampered the entire time. I would love to bring my corgi with me next time so she can get pampered too.
