If you’re in Phuket and don’t have time to visit Phi Phi islands, Kata Beach is a nice alternative. My friends and I were staying at the Amari Phuket hotel and didn’t make it in time to visit Phi Phi Islands on our first day, so the travel agent at the hotel suggested visiting the nearby Kuta Beach.

Patong beach is known for party-goers, so it can be a bit loud at night if your hotel is right on that street, but this resort was up on a hill away from all the noise which was perfect for me.

The resort is located literally in the middle of the rice fields and the Ayung river flows right next to it where the locals bathe and wash their laundry.
