There are many hotels to choose from in Pamukkale, Turkey and they are all very affordable, but Venus Suite Hotel stood out the most to me. They have beautifully decorated rooms that are very spacious and a charming courtyard with a pool. Although it’s not right next to the Pamukkale Thermal Pools like the other hotels, it’s still only a 12-minute walk to the area.

LOCATION

Originally, I wanted to stay right next to the Pamukkale Thermal Pools so I could have quick access to the park, but I later realized that the South Entrance was the gate that opened the earliest and I would still need to drive up to it rather than walk. Since we had to drive to the park anyway, it didn’t matter how close we were to the park.

Pamukkale Thermal Pools

As I mentioned earlier, Venus Suite Hotel is still very close to the thermal pools. It’s only a 12-minute walk to the main area of shops, restaurants, and the natural park. Right next to the hotel is a small convenience store and if you need a pharmacy as I did (I had to get aloe vera for my sunburns), it’s right around the corner and only a 5-minute walk. The Upside Down House was also right across the street from the pharmacy.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Out of all the hotels we stayed at in Turkey, this was the easiest place to find parking. There were about 8 dedicated spaces for cars and also extra parking on the side of the road with plenty of room.

The owner (or general manager) of the hotel was very lively and kind. He was quite the jokester and constantly made us laugh. His staff, which I believe were his sons, helped us with our luggage and showed us to our room on the third floor.

Hotel key to our room

I originally booked a standard room with two twin beds, but they upgraded us to a very spacious room with a king-size bed and twin bed.

THE ROOM

Our room was located on the corner of the third floor in Room 309. We were very excited about how spacious the room was since we were expecting a smaller, standard room. The first thing we wanted to make sure was that the A/C was working because it was 100°F outside when we arrived. The A/C worked perfectly and the room quickly cooled down.

Spacious room at Venus Suite Hotel

There was one king-size bed and one twin bed. The rooms listed on Booking.com state that all the rooms have queen size beds, but I swear this was a king-size bed. I have a queen size bed at home and this definitely felt larger.

Each bed had its own nightstand, but only one side by the twin bed had an outlet. There were still plenty of outlets around the room, but it’s always nice to have an outlet by your bed so you can have the phone right next to you.

On the beds were robes and slippers, which is always a nice bonus.

Across from the beds were a luggage and storage bench, long working desk, TV, refrigerator, and an electric kettle with instant coffee and tea. The refrigerator had some complimentary bottles of water.

Balcony

There was also a balcony right next to the king bed, but the view wasn’t so great. If you’re looking for the best view on the balcony at this hotel, it’ll probably be the courtyard view.

The bathroom was pretty nice with a small sink and standup shower. The shower stall had an impressive shower panel with a rainfall showerhead, body nozzles, and a handheld showerhead.

The shower felt great most of our stay, but there was one time that I could not get the water to heat up to my liking. I believe it was in the evening, so it may have been prime time for showers.

There were plenty of toiletries with the usual basics like shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. They do not provide lotion (all the hotels we stayed at in Turkey do not provide lotion), so I would make sure to bring your own.

Right in front of the bathroom is a large closet with hangers and a small digital safe. I used this space to store all my toiletries since there wasn’t enough counter space in the bathroom.

For the most part, this room was wonderful, but the only thing that bothered me was the slamming of the doors from the nearby rooms. This sounded like it was mostly due to kids running in and out of the rooms, but after about the 10th time, the door slamming got really aggravating.

AMENITIES

Venus Suite Hotel has a very charming courtyard with a small pool and outdoor seating. There is also a large indoor seating area, but most of the guests stayed outdoors to enjoy their meals.

They have a restaurant and bar on-site with a wide variety of menu items to choose from. We ate all of our meals here during our entire stay in Pamukkale because it was convenient, well-presented, and pretty good food.

Dinner at the hotel

Complimentary breakfast

Our hotel stay also came with complimentary breakfast and they have an excellent array of pastries and desserts to choose from along with the usual servings of a typical Turkish breakfast including olives, slices of bread, fruit preserves, honey, butter, assorted cheese, cucumbers, and tomatoes.

You can also ask to have them cook your eggs in any style. I usually preferred an omelet with cheese because I love the cheese that Turkey uses in their omelets.

Excellent breakfast with an array of pastries and desserts

Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM every day. We knew we wouldn’t make it in time for breakfast one morning, so my friend asked the manager if he could save us some breakfast when we got back and he happily arranged this for us.

The hotel also offers free WiFi and it worked really well on my phone and laptop.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, we had a great stay at Venus Suite Hotel. The price is great, the staff is wonderful, the food is excellent, and the rooms are spacious. I highly recommend staying here if you are planning to stay overnight in Pamukkale.
