5 Great Icy Treats in Tampa to Keep You Cool This Summer

Every summer in Florida, I always think to myself: Can it get any hotter? And every year, yes, it gets hotter. That's why us Floridians need help cooling down. Thankfully, Tampa has a great variety of icy cold treats for us:

1 | Revolution Ice Cream

This place has the most amazing homemade ice cream and they have fun flavors like Eurotrash, Matt's Fatty Rolls and Grandma's Oreo. They rotate their flavors regularly and every flavor we have tried so far has been excellent. Whenever we're in a mood for some ice cream, this is definitely our go-to spot. Bonus points for being super pet friendly!

2 | Icesmile

Icesmile is popular for their rolled ice cream, which apparently originated in Thailand. They are always packed with a line almost out the door, but you won't be waiting long as their service is super speedy. They have a fun decor of Post-its all over the walls with messages from their customers. I love that they have my favorite green tea flavor and use the Japanese koala snack as their main topping.

3 | The Hyppo

The Hyppo originated in St. Augustine, Florida and has made it's way down to Tampa with a couple of locations in Ybor City and Hyde Park Village. They serve gourmet ice pops that are all natural and all their ingredients are non-GMO. They use fresh fruits, fresh herbs and evaporated can juice. There are so many interesting flavors to choose from like the Ginger Pineapple, Mango Habanero and Blackberry Goatcheese.

4 | Whatever Pops

Whatever Pops is a cute little dessert shop in Seminole Heights and has fresh, icy treats from popsicles to gelato to shakes. I tried their caramel gelato and it was so delicious that I finished it in seconds. Their homemade gelato just melts in your mouth! They also serve acai bowls, waffles on a stick and espresso.

5 | Bo's Ice Cream

Bo's Ice Cream has been a Tampa favorite for over 60 years. Try the popular upside down banana split with vanilla & chocolate ice cream, strawberries, pineapples, bananas, nuts, whipped cream and cherry... and I think that's it. You can order through their drive-thru or enjoy the ice cream outdoors at their tables. They also make cute cups of ice cream just for dogs with cute little mini bones.
