Rancho Pacifico, an amazing eco luxury hotel in Uvita, is located in a canopy-covered mountain in a private jungle reserve with a stunning view of the famous Whale's Tail. It's a really intimate property with a total of ten villas and suites which accommodated a total occupancy of only twenty-four guests.
The "cool streets" of Hillcrest and North Park have amazing microbreweries and have built quite the reputation. Fruitcraft is one of the newest additions to this hipster neighborhood and it is not your average tasting room.
Every summer in Florida, I always think to myself: Can it get any hotter? And every year, yes, it gets hotter. That's why us Floridians need help cooling down. Thankfully, Tampa has a great variety of icy cold treats for us!
When I start packing my suitcase, one of the things I think about is whether or not to pack my gym gear.
We booked a trip at an amazing resort in Costa Rica and felt that having a personal wifi hotspot would be perfect for this trip. We've been hearing about the Skyroam hotspot from other travel bloggers, so thought we would give it a try. We usually rent a wifi hotspot in the country we’re visiting, but we didn’t want to waste any time picking it up as we had a 4 hour drive to our resort from the airport. We made the best decision having this handy device with us.
I have been wanting to visit Cuba for years and when airlines started offering direct flights from Tampa to Cuba, I knew I had to go. As soon as I got off the plane and stepped foot onto Cuba, I was overcome with excitement. The architecture, history and the people are everything I had imagined. Here are my top 15 photos that captured the essence of Havana.
We have had our eye on Cuba ever since airlines started direct flights to Cuba from the United States. We booked our trip through Southwest Airlines and it was just like booking any other flight except you had to get a visa specifying the reason for our visit (there are 12 visa categories to choose from). Since many people had questions about getting this visa to Cuba, we thought we'd start out this post with that process.
We were really looking forward to visiting this hidden gem and have been following 801 E. Main's journey from their humble beginnings. Robyn, the owner, has been frying up her famous New Orlean's style beignets from her farmer's market stand, The Poor Porker, for years and has since expanded to an amazing eclectic space at. 801 E. Main St.
When we arrived at our Airbnb in Old Havana, we were so stoked that we scored the best location. It was walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. We had 48 hours in Cuba and these were our top 10 favorite things to do in Havana.
Here is our top 8 essentials to pack for Cuba. We were well prepared for our trip to Cuba and all of the items listed were things we were definitely glad we brought with us. There is one item on this list that we added after our trip that we wish we had. Can you guess what that item was?
I have been to Disney World countless number of times in the last 20 years since I live about an hour away from the magical kingdom. Whenever I have visitors that want to visit Disney World, we usually only have one day, so I figured out a system on how to visit all 4 parks in one day. It's an ambitious schedule, but if you have the will, it can easily be done.
We didn't know much about Cuba before making plans to travel to the country. We had so many questions prior to our trip and while we were there. It was interesting to see how the Cuban world operates and how different some things are compared to our everyday lives. Here are the top 15 things we learned from our first trip to Cuba.
We recently traveled to Cuba for the first time and did a ton of research prior to our visit. We wanted to make sure everything went smoothly since we don't like to stress while on vacation. To ensure your visit to Cuba goes as smooth as ours did, here are some simple steps to take for preparation:
We have been huge fans of Ella's Americana Folk Art Cafe for over six years now and began going to this unique and trendy spot shortly after they opened. Every time we have friends in town, this is one of the spots we love taking them to. We've spent so much time here that we decided it was time to share this hidden gem.
O'Side is a laid-back beach town with an emerging culinary scene that's perfect for a girl's weekend getaway. To take all the stress out of the planning, I put together the ultimate weekend itinerary.
There are so many things to see and do in Tokyo that it's hard to narrow down what to do if you only have a couple of days to spend in this iconic city. We grew up in Japan and still visit on a regular basis, so these are our recommendations from a tourist and local's perspective.
Succulent Cafe is nestled between two buildings and the space is utilized beautifully. It is the perfect spot to unwind and savor a nice cup of coffee.
When I arrived at the SpringHill Suites Marriott in Downtown Oceanside, CA, I immediately fell in love when I pulled my car into the entrance and was greeted by a beautiful huge succulent living wall.
Every Thursday night Oceanside's Sunset Market gathers local farmers, artists, and chef's from all over the world. It's a wonderful way to spend a Thursday evening with friends and family (this means your fur baby too!) with live entertainment and an amazing selection of gourmet cuisines.
I love Savannah and was thrilled when I found out that one of my business trips was going to be in Savannah for 4 days this year. The best part was that we got to stay in one of the most beautiful and historic (my favorite!) hotels in the charming city at Mansion on Forsyth Park.
I have visited a Maid Cafe years ago when I went with a group of friends, but Ryan had never experienced one before, so we made sure to visit one this time while we were in Japan. Maid Cafes have been in Japan for awhile now and they are popular among otakus (Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, commonly the anime and manga fandom) and tourists. They are cafes with waitresses dressed as maids and they treat their customers as “masters”.
Karaoke isn't something new and has been a favorite pastime in Japan for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Japan and my classmates and I would go as often as 2-3 times a week. When I moved to the United States, I was surprised at how different the Karaoke experience was in the Western culture. It was nothing like Japan's Karaoke.
Grand Hyatt Tokyo is located in Roppongi Hills and it's an outstanding location right in the center of everything with shopping, entertainment, restaurants and more. It was perfect for our one night stay because we wanted to visit a couple of places that were within walking distance from the hotel: Hedgehog Cafe and the Mori Art Museum.
I was on a hunt for the cutest cafes in Japan and came across Pompompurin Cafe in Harajuku. Japan is well-known for creating kawaii (cute) dishes and this cafe did not disappoint. The entire yellow cafe explodes with cuteness from their decor to tabletop settings to dishes.
I recently visited the Akihabara Gachapon Kaikan store and this store is ridiculous with all the gachapon machines they have. If you’re a gachapon lover, you must go here.
Remember the movie, Lost in Translation? They shot that film at Park Hyatt Tokyo, where we were lucky enough to stay at! It's such a beautiful hotel and the service is top-notch.
Sushi is everywhere in Japan and there’s a wide range of sushi restaurants to choose from. You can go from chain sushi restaurants to the uber expensive sushi places like Sukibayashi Jiro from the documentary, Jiro Dreams of Sushi. We wanted to have fun while eating our sushi, so we went to Kura Sushi.
I’ve been hearing a lot about Robot Restaurant lately, so I had to go check this place out for myself while I was in Japan. It’s a pretty expensive show at ¥8,000 (~$80), but if you go to Beauty of Japan and purchase your tickets in advance, you’ll get a 16% discount, making it ¥6,700 (~$67) for the show.
We were staying at the Grand Hyatt in Tokyo and discovered that there was a hedgehog cafe within walking distance from our hotel. Margot Robbie went to this same cafe a few months prior and her instagram photo of her holding one of the hedgehogs was adorable. Since we already visited the Owl Cafe and liked it so much, we had to visit the hedgehog cafe too.
Are you a fan of of the anime character Totoro or cream puffs? We are! That is why we went to this cute little cafe that was located slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Shirohige's Cream Puff Shop is a small little bakery and cafe located in Setagaya, Japan.
