When the weekend rolls around and I need to get out for some retail therapy, I don't picture myself shopping alone. For me, the experience is so much better when you are shopping with a friend. But your shopping buddy isn't always going to be around, so wouldn't it be awesome if your furry friend could go shopping with you!?
At first, I thought this wasn't possible. I can take Kuma, the corgi, to places like Petco and Petsmart, but there's no way I can take her to clothing stores with me... unless it's Hyde Park Village in Tampa!
We absolutely love Hyde Park Village. We went with Kuma and spent the afternoon shopping and dining. At first we were a little worried and kept asking each other, "Can Kuma really go into this store too?" Then we would look down by the entrance and there would be a cute little water bowl for dogs. This pretty much meant that dogs were welcome in the stores.
We had a blast shopping at lululemon, Anthropologie, West Elm and a cute little pet boutique, Downtown Dogs. The part we enjoyed the most was talking to the friendly store attendants and shoppers. Bringing your dog can easily open up conversations with everyone. They all loved petting Kuma and she loved all the attention she was getting. Funny how your furry friend can liven up a crowd of people in an instant.
We hope more retailers will open up to the idea of allowing pets in their stores. It's such a fun experience spending the day with your BFF (best furry friend)!
