We heard there was a fairly new restaurant in town; Haven, that specializes in house-made charcuterie and cultured artisanal cheese so we had to check them out.
We explored Tampa quite a bit more this year and experienced so many fun things to do in the area! If you're visiting Tampa, here are some fun things you can do in this great city:
We had one day to spend in Sarasota and wanted to check out the best spots in the area. Sarasota is known for their beautiful beaches, art and culture. We managed to fit in some relaxation on the beach, shopping, dining and a visit to a museum. Here are the top 3 things we found to do in Sarasota:
We didn’t know much about the Ringling Museum of Art before we visited, but we’re sure glad we stopped by when we were in Sarasota. We were blown away by this museum.
Downtown Disney recently changed their name to Disney Springs with a whole bunch of renovations and we wanted to see all the fun new shops and restaurants they added.
Cask Social Kitchen opened in June 2015 and has quickly became one of our favorite restaurants in Tampa. Located in Hyde Park, it’s one of the restaurants in the area not to be missed.
We've been searching for a local coffee shop in Tampa that has it all - good coffee (obviously), friendly service, plenty of seating and free wifi - and we finally found it: Ginger Beard Coffee!
Oxford Exchange has been around in Tampa for awhile, but we only recently visited for brunch. I don't know why it took us so long to visit this place because it is gorgeous!!
I haven’t been to the Tampa Museum of Art in awhile and since I had free admission by staying at the Le Meridien Tampa hotel, I made sure to take advantage of a visit. Tampa Museum of Art is a beautiful museum located in the heart of downtown Tampa. The award-winning building was built in 2010 by architect Stanley Saitowitz and has become an icon at Curtis Hixon Park.
I've been taking notice of Le Meridien and Bizou's beautiful Instagram feed and had to check this place out for myself. The Le Meriden Tampa hotel and it’s restaurant, Bizou, is located in downtown Tampa and the building used to be the city's formal federal courthouse. I passed by this building numerous times before and had no idea it was a hotel until I started researching the place! I was even more intrigued and wanted to stay here for the night to get the full experience of this unique hotel.
I've become a brunch junkie lately and trying out all the hip restaurants around Tampa on the weekends. I usually like to check out places that have a cool vibe or something unique and O Cocina & Flights definitely fits that category.
Ybor City used to be a thriving cigar industry composed of Cuban and Spanish immigrants and was founded in 1885 by a group of cigar manufacturers led by Vicente Martinez-Ybor. The Cuban culture still remains in Ybor and it's also filled with vintage stores, restaurants, coffee shops, bars and breweries.
On the coast of St. Petersburg, Florida is the beautiful Vinoy Park with tall banyan trees, lively outdoor cafes, iconic museums and the historic Vinoy hotel overlooking Tampa Bay. We spent the day strolling around this gorgeous area.
There's plenty of dog friendly bars in the Tampa Bay area, but nothing like The Dog Bar in St. Petersburg! This place is designed so that the dogs can have fun playing off leash in the park area while the owners sit at the bar and watch their fur babies have fun.
We've always loved Dunedin for being a cute and quiet town that is friendly not only to their visitors, but to their dogs as well. This town is so dog friendly that they created a dog mural on Skip's Bar and Grill to help raise money for the Dunedin Doggie Rescue. How awesome is that!?
We hopped around some of our favorite areas in the Tampa Bay area and wanted to share our perfect outfits from Tobi.
The Aloft hotel in downtown Tampa is very pet friendly and so is the surrounding areas. We had a great time at the hotel and exploring Curtis Hixon.
St. Augustine is the perfect place to vacation with your dog!
Want to take your fur buddy shopping with you? Hyde Park Village is the perfect place!
Have you tried Tampa's Coast Bike Rental Program? It's been almost a year since their debut and with the perfect weather this time of year we decided to give it a try.
Just got back from staying at the Vinoy resort to celebrate Ryan’s birthday and we had such a wonderful time! Customer service is impeccable and the resort is gorgeous with historic and contemporary decor - my favorite!
